High Performance 2026

'High Performance', is a program of the JDP tiered approach open to athletes in age groups from Grade 7 to Grade 12.

It is effectively Tier 3, which means it targets athletes willing to compete on the national stage (AYVC and AJVC), as well as playing senior local competition (Southern and Launceston leagues, and possibly the Tasmanian State League).

In this Tier, it is also expected that athletes take more responsibility and volunteer some of their time towards lower Tiers as assistant coaches when asked. As part of the HP program, athletes have accumulated enough knowledge and theoretical understanding of the game to share it with the broader program.

Finally, athletes in this Tier are expected to complete their Level 2 State referee accreditation. While the cost is covered by the JDP, athletes will need to attend a Level 2 face-to-face course and be assessed by a qualified assessor to have their accreditation validated.
