2007 Tasmanian Masters Volleyball Championships
The third annual Tassie Masters event took place on 20 October 2007 at Launceston College. Due to school holidays, end of footy seasons and the Australasian Masters Games in Adelaide 5-14 October, a bit later than last year.
Divisions were offered in 30+ and 40+ Men's. Due to some personnel issues, the 40+ division became a kind of 35+ division, but all players still enjoyed themselves (even the 50 and 60 year olds!) Files to download:.... DRAW

| Assassins | 0 | 2 | 1 | 7 | 1 | 6 | 0.14 |
Game 1: Hobart def Boss 2-1 (25-23, 25-21, 18-25) The first cross-over match, but perhaps not surprisingly turned out to be one of the closest matches of the day!
Game 2: Launceston def Dirty Dogs 2-1 (23-25, 25-14, 26-24) A sign of things to come: close match going beyond 25 in the third...
Game 3: Dirty Dogs drw Assassins 1-1 (20-25, 25-22, 21-21) The only draw of the day; all attending on-lookers agreed it was a nailbiter!
Game 4: Hobart def Launceston 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-19) Though sprinkled with some "Masters" rallies, this was definitely a case of North vs South.
Game 5: Boss def Assassins 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-20) Despite the distinct advantage of experience in Boss, and maybe fresh legs off the bench, this was expected to be a grudge match, as always. There's a reason we call them 'Masters'....
Game 6: Hobart def Dirty Dogs 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-15) Perhaps it was Hobart keen to finish the preliminaries in readiness for finals, or perhaps it was the Dogs' shortfall in experience. Not enough "Masters" rallies here....
Game 7: Boss def Dirty Dogs 2-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-16) One may be forgiven for thinking the younger team had the advantage after narrowly closing out the first set, but that Boss fighting spirit and pride helped lift the well-drilled Boss team yet again.
Game 8: Launceston def Assassins 2-0 (25-19, 28-26) By the afternoon, younger legs and a home ground advantage make all the difference.
FINAL 30+ MEN: Hobart def Launceston 2-0 (25-20, 25-13) Fairly convincing win after a very successful day. Congratulations Hobart!
FINAL 40+ MEN: Boss def Assassins 2-1 (25-16, 18-25, 15-9) A mammoth final after a long day! This match had everything - endurance, spectacular plays, the odd niggle, some definite "Masters" rallies, one team pushing on with the starting line-up and the other making a million bench changes.... Congratulations to all and particularly eventual winners Boss.
