2005 Tasmanian Masters Volleyball Championship

The inaugural Tasmanian Masters Volleyball Championship (for those "over-30s" who think they're still up to it!) was held on Saturday 27th August 2005 at Launceston College. Divisions in the following age groups were offered: 30+ (men), 40+ (men) and 30+ (women).  [link: Masters homepage]

Competition was fierce, at times, but always in good spirit. Many experienced players of the "last generation" turned back the clock, so to speak, and showed some of the "youngsters" that age alone is no barrier to playing fantastic volleyball.... and they've got a whole year to recover before the next Masters!

Congratulations to all teams, especially those who took the prize in their division. Many, many thanks also to the 1st referees (especially Chris Rice & Charles Ibbott, who worked tirelessly the whole day) and other volunteers who officiated as 2nd referees or scorers - the event was a great success due to your efforts.

Women's Division
